LAMB HEAD CURRY/MUTTON THALA CURRY

INGREDIENTS
  1. MUTTON THALA/HEAD PIECES-1/2 KG
  2. Chopped onion-1 (medium sized)
  3. Ginger-1 1/2 inch
  4. Cardamom-1 inch
  5. Cloves-9 to 10
  6. Coriander leaves
  7. Coconut paste(finely grinded raw coconut)-1/2 cup
  8. Mutton masala powder(OPTIONAL)-1/2 tea spoon
  9. Coriander Powder-1 tea spoon
  10. Turmeric powder-1/4 tea spoon
  11. Chilli powder-1 tea spoon
  12. Garlic-1
 PROCEDURE
  • In a pan lightly fry the onions and keep it aside
  • Now take fried onions,garlic,ginger,cardamom,cloves,turmeric powder,chilli powder,Coriander powder in mixer and grind them well
  • In a pan take some oil and fry the paste for 5 minutes
  • Add 2 to 3 glasses of water to the paste
  • Now put the mutton pieces,salt,turmeric powder in cooker and boil it until you get 3 whistles
  • Now add the boiled mutton pieces to the above prepared masala
  • Filter the coconut paste and add only coconut milk to the masala
  • Finally add coriander leaves and mutton masala powder and mix well
  • Mutton masala powder is an optional.Curry can be prepared without this also
Spicy LAMB HEAD CURY/MUTTON THALA CURRY is now ready.It can be best served with idli.
